Happy With My Care.

I’m happy with the care I receive at Belle’s Place. The caregivers are usually cheerful, work hard and always treat me with dignity. They’re also good about being there when I need them, which I appreciate.

A Big Thank You.

I just want to thank the caregivers at Belle’s Place for everything they do for my husband. They can always be relied on, they treat him with respect and they know how to have a laugh with him, which he really enjoys. They work incredibly hard and have shown him so much kindness. He appreciates them more than they probably realize, and so do I. Thank you.

Genuine Care and Peace of Mind.

From the initial assessment, the management team at 1019 Belle’s Place of Kenwood was thorough, honest, and easy to understand. Communication has remained excellent, whether it involves care, billing, or simply checking in after one of our loved ones has needed medical attention. The caregivers are compassionate, dependable, and professional. More importantly, they take a genuine interest in the people they care for. We’ve been especially impressed by how calmly they handle unexpected situations—from sorting out a double-locked door without making a fuss to supporting one family member while the other was being treated by paramedics. Knowing that both of our loved ones have attentive support throughout the day and night has given our family tremendous peace of mind. They aren’t treated like names on a schedule. They’re treated with patience, dignity, and genuine kindness.

Her old love of books gave the staff a way in.

My mother Evelyn spent decades as an elementary-school librarian, so handing her care to other people once Alzheimer's set in was hard for all of us. We started looking after she began leaving the house on her own and forgetting her medication, and we knew she needed somewhere secure with staff who genuinely understood dementia. What worried me most was that Evelyn gets anxious in unfamiliar places, and she digs her heels in when she feels rushed. Before she moved in, I brought over family photographs, several of her favorite books, and notes about her old job and her daily habits. The staff had it all arranged in her room before she arrived, which mattered more than I expected. The first week was still rough. She turned down most of the activities and barely ate. Instead of pushing, the team offered quieter one-to-one time and made things she recognized, and gave her room to settle at her own pace. What won me over was small and specific. One of the activity staff noticed she still loved reading short poems aloud, and started inviting her to help with a little afternoon reading group. The caregivers also learned to let her pick out her own clothes before stepping in, which keeps her from feeling managed. They handle her medication and personal care calmly, and I get useful updates, plus a prompt call whenever something meaningful changes. Eleven months in, she's less anxious, she has a routine she can count on, and she spends more time around other people. If I could tell another family one thing, share your relative's story. Their old interests can be the way back to them.
